In summer 2010, the P.L.A.S.C.O. Entrepreneur Program was developed making it the oldest logistics and supply chain program designed specifically for high school students. Since the program's inception, logistics and supply chain has been our core components to help participants grasp the holistic understanding of starting a business, developing useful strategies, execution tactics, and highlighting new career opportunities.
The immersive, week-long program aims to inculcate a strong interest in supply chain and demonstrate how it all factors into business, and entrepreneurship while reinforcing academic competencies in mathematics, creative problem solving, negotiation, product development, while strengthening public speaking, team building, critical thinking skills and also help students gain a competitive edge for college.
This advance program includes industry and entrepreneur guest speakers, a tour at a local warehouse or manufacturing facility to explore how supply chain management plays an essential role in every business, large and small. Students will build upon their knowledge through completing several hands-on supply chain related projects. We will introduce students to operational infrastructures in high-growth industries, equip them with the essential tools needed to create a practical business plan, and challenge them to launch their very own business.
